Communications & Events Manager, ADVANTAGE AUSTRIA UK

As our Communications & Events Manager your mission will be to raise the profile of Austrian business and help to build new partnerships in the UK by reaching out to audiences in the UK, by creating content and managing online platforms, and by designing and executing memorable events.

The Austrian Embassy – Commercial Section in London is looking for a committed, outgoing and well-organised graduate for the Communications & Events Manager role. The position will be full-time or part-time (min. 80%). The application deadline is 30 April.

The ADVANTAGE AUSTRIA UK / Commercial Section at the Austrian Embassy in London is one of the 100 service centres operated by Austria’s foreign commercial service (ADVANTAGE AUSTRIA) in over 70 countries around the world. Our mission is to provide worldwide business support to Austrian companies and raise awareness for their leading role in such areas as sustainability & circularity, technology & innovation, craftmanship & manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing and developing our UK online platforms and social media channels. This includes creating compelling posts, engaging content (text/image/video), identifying audiences, improving customer journeys, driving engagement and monitoring trends and analytics.
  • Developing and executing communication strategies and aligning them closely with overall management objectives. Preparing communications, presentations and briefing notes for a variety of use cases and business audiences.
  • Planning, organising and executing inhouse, external and virtual events with our team and partners, ensuring their successful implementation from start to finish. This includes concept stage, organisational aspects (venue, A/V, F&B), onsite execution, event tools and CRM records, as well as post-event work.
  • Supporting Austrian companies with UK-related market surveys and business intelligence in a few industry sectors and assisting our team in project delivery.

Your Profile:

  • You are a people’s person with excellent communication skills and bring an inspiring and engaging energy to our team, guests and partners. You are creative, quick on your feet and hands-on. You are able to juggle multiple projects and deadlines, and you love to start new ideas from scratch and scale them together with the team and partners.
  • You hold a relevant bachelor’s or master’s degree and have a minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience.
  • We expect advanced digital, texting, design, A/V, and project management skills, and curiosity to learn new applications.
  • You have excellent communication skills, and preferably German language skills.
  • We value personal integrity, trustworthiness and discretion, the ability to work both independently and as part of a team and a flexible approach to a varied workload and event timings.
