We’re hiring a Group Tax Manager to work on a hybrid basis from our London office.

Role Purpose

The Group Tax manager reports to the Corporate Tax director to support in a variety of challenging and exciting tax areas expected within a dynamic international group.

The projects will range across the spectrum of our tax pillars, being optimisation, risk management and ensuring compliance with Group Tax Policies. This will require an ability to identify risks, recommend practical solutions, and take decisions based on experience and judgement. The role requires an ability to determine strategy but also understand the detail, to work autonomously but also recognise where internal and external input may be needed.

Specifically, the role will include Pillar 2 support for the group, M&A tax support, leading on country reorganisation projects, understanding the tax position of certain allocated countries to deal with in due course, input on supporting local country tax audits as well as involvement in year-end reporting reviews for specific countries.

Key responsibilities

Supporting senior members of tax team advising on;

  • Pillar 2 support for the group
  • M&A transactions, which vary in size and complexity single country to multi-country deals
  • Post acquisition tax integration reviews and ensuring targets are integrated into the Dentsu business and align with Global tax policies
  • Country reorganisations and simplification - group is undertaking substantial simplification project to reduce number of legal entities and so involves tax input to manage transactions in a tax efficient manner.
  • Build relationship with local CFOs in relevant markets where tax support is provided.
  • Support local markets in dealing with tax audits in a consistent and effective way
  • Reviewing year-end tax reporting for certain markets as part of the yearly group tax consolidation (note this is a review role and not preparation)
  • Dealing with ad hoc tax queries ranging from potential PEs, profit repatriation, cross border people management

Skills/Qualifications

  • CTA or ACA qualified.
  • Experience in international tax concepts, from reorganisation concepts, PEs, withholding tax, transfer pricing, preferably both in an advisory firm and in industry.
  • Extensive relevant track record operating within large, complex global organisations, with proven corporate tax experience with an ability to apply their technical knowledge in a practical way
  • Strong accounting & analytical, problem solving skills and quantitative skills and a track record for planning, doing and auditing work; the ability to see beyond the numbers to drive sound decision-making, systematically break down problems or processes into their parts and develop several alternative solutions
  • Strong IT skills (excel and accounting packages)
  • Strong project & change management skills and ability to manage multiple projects and priorities at once
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills, while being able to discuss detailed technical aspects clearly.
