Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of students with special educational needs? We are recruiting on behalf of an independent SEND Primary school based in Manchester that believes in personalised education for every student. Their mission is to equip each student with the academic and personal skills they need to reach their full potential and contribute positively to the community.


We are looking for a Teacher with extensive SEN experience who shares the school's commitment to providing an aspirational and nurturing learning environment. The Role:

As an SEN Teacher, you will work closely with the SEN department and class teachers to plan and deliver high-quality, tailored lessons for students with a range of special educational needs. Your key responsibilities will include:

  1. Planning, delivering, and assessing lessons that meet the needs of students with SEN, ensuring all students make progress in line with their individual learning plans.
  2. Differentiating the curriculum to meet the diverse needs of students, using a variety of teaching methods and resources.
  3. Collaborating with colleagues to create a truly inclusive learning environment for students with SEN.
  4. Supporting students in the development of their social, emotional, and behavioural skills, fostering an atmosphere of respect and inclusion.
  5. Writing and reviewing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and supporting with the monitoring and tracking of student progress.
  6. Collaborating with parents and external professionals to ensure that the needs of students are fully met.

About You:

The ideal candidate will be a qualified teacher with a passion for SEN education, committed to ensuring that every student achieves their best. We are looking for someone who:

  1. Has a recognised teaching qualification (QTS or equivalent) and experience teaching students with SEN in a secondary school setting.
  2. Has 2 years proven experience working with children with SEND, particularly autism, ADHD, and speech and language difficulties.
  3. Has a deep understanding of the challenges students with SEN face and a commitment to supporting them in achieving their potential.
  4. Demonstrates excellent communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with students, parents, and colleagues.
  5. Is creative and resourceful in developing engaging and inclusive lessons.
  6. Holds a relevant SEN qualification (e.g., SENDCo, or evidence of specific SEN training) - this is desirable but not essential.
  7. Has a proactive, positive attitude and is dedicated to making a difference in students' lives.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. The above vacancy is a temporary position. Occasionally, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date. We offer flexibility with this, as we understand some candidates may not wish to commit to a permanent contract.
