Our Global Compliance and Reporting professionals are corporate tax advisers who help businesses with both the complex demands of tax reporting, compliance and their associated tax advisory, strategy and controversy requirements. The opportunity
Due to growth we are looking for an experienced Corporate Tax Manager for our Glasgow or Edinburgh office. The role offers the opportunity to work on some of the largest and most exciting clients in the market to help support them as they navigate an increasingly complex tax environment. Most importantly, you will be responsible for building and maintaining trusted relationships with clients and ensuring in your role as their day-to-day contact that they have access to the breadth of services available to them at EY.

Your key responsibilities:

  1. Grow and maintain relationships with existing and new clients
  2. High level management of the successful delivery of technically complex tax compliance and tax reporting engagements as well as delivery of any related consulting projects
  3. Involvement in tax audit engagements
  4. Providing exceptional client service
  5. Working in conjunction with other tax specialist teams
  6. Help people to develop through effectively supervising, coaching and mentoring staff
  7. Lead team initiatives, covering all aspects of leading a successful team

Skills and attributes for success:

  1. Significant experience in corporate tax from practice or from an in-house tax background
  2. Strong client relationship management skills
  3. Negotiation skills, able to sustain opinion and exhibit strong stakeholder management
  4. Business development skills, able to identify and convert opportunities to sell work
  5. Effective time management, ability to remain calm when under pressure to meet deadlines
  6. Excellent communicator in a range of situations both written and oral
  7. Enthusiastic team player with the ability to create and sustain effective teams
  8. Experience of coaching and developing more junior staff
  9. Ensure delivery of quality work

To qualify for the role, you must have:

  1. Experienced corporate tax practitioner (Minimum of 5 years’ experience)
  2. ACA / CA / ACCA / CTA Tax Inspectors with full Technical Training course / Law qualification/ Tax specialist qualification / or breadth of knowledge equivalent to a Tax specialist qualification
