Communications Officer - Alcester - 6-Month Contract (with potential to become permanent) - Up to £16 per hour


Are you a creative and proactive communicator with a flair for design and digital platforms?


Our client, based in the market town of Alcester, is seeking a skilled Communications Officer to join their Communications team to help share inspiring stories of service, community impact, and change around the world.


What will the day to day duties be for this Communications Officer role?


As our Communications Officer, you will be working in a project-driven role with a focus on the company's WordPress website.


  1. Member Engagement: Contributing to the creation and delivery of regular email newsletters to members, with both written and visual assets.
  2. Digital Publishing: Contributing to the production of the organisation's monthly online magazine and social media activity.
  3. Content Creation: Developing engaging content using Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, and WordPress templates to share the company's mission and impact.
  4. Website Management: Updating and maintaining WordPress websites to an intermediate level (no coding required), using drag-and-drop templates.
  5. Initiative: Bringing fresh ideas and executing them with minimal supervision to improve communication effectiveness.

What skills and experience do I need for this Communications Officer role?


  1. Competent copywriter with a strong standard of written English.
  2. Proficient with WordPress (intermediate level, no coding), Canva, and Adobe Creative Suite.
  3. A keen eye for design and storytelling, with the ability to produce high-quality work under deadlines.
  4. Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently.
  5. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with a small team.
