Teacher Active is honoured to be working alongside a specialist SEMH school based in York. This school provides a stable, comfortable and supportive environment for children with challenging behaviours who may need additional support. This amazing school boasts about their fantastic support network, quality private education, referrals to support services and the additional support they offer families.

The school is looking to employ a motivated, driven and reliable SEMH Teacher on a long-term basis, which could lead to a permanent role for the right candidate. The successful applicant will be working alongside Primary and Secondary schools, helping SEMH children with exams and preparation for their SATs and GCSEs. The main focus of this role is to help students achieve outstanding results in their subjects while receiving support for their challenging behaviours.

The Teaching Assistant must be resilient, motivated, and reliable. They must also have the knowledge and skills to calm pupils down, ensure they're comfortable, and have the expertise and confidence to use Team Teach in relevant situations.

The successful SEMH Teacher will have:

1. Team Teach trained
2. Experience teaching in Primary and Secondary schools
3. Understanding of the needs of SEMH pupils
