Band: 7 (A4C) Salary: Dependent on experience
Type of contract: Permanent contract x 1 (Liverpool)
Maternity leave cover x 1 – 12-month fixed term contract (Knutsford)
An exciting opportunity has arisen for two qualified Embryologists to join our team, at the Hewitt Fertility Centres, Liverpool and Knutsford. The post available in Liverpool is on a permanent basis whilst the post available in Knutsford is a 12-month fixed term contract to provide maternity leave cover.
The Liverpool Women’s NHS Foundation Trust hosts one of the largest and most respected assisted conception units in the UK, with a twenty-year track record of clinical excellence and full four-year HFEA licence across our two sites (Liverpool and Knutsford, Cheshire). Whilst care is provided predominantly on an NHS basis, there is a large and thriving private practice which contributes to a quarter of the overall workload.
The Hewitt Fertility Centre is seeking to appoint a clinical embryologist to join our highly skilled and dedicated team of 35 scientists. We are dedicated to providing the very best in patient care and offer a full range of laboratory therapeutic and diagnostic treatment (IVF, ICSI, IMSI, PGT, TESE, semen, egg & embryo cryopreservation, and sperm, egg and embryo donation programmes). The Hewitt Fertility Centre offers as standard the latest time-lapse technologies for all patients in our state-of-the-art laboratories.
Successful applicants will be required to actively participate in all routine embryological procedures and take part in a weekend and on-call rota. Suitable applicants must have experience of performing clinical workload within an embryology laboratory setting and be familiar with the HFEA Code of Practice. HCPC registration is required and we only encourage those with registration to apply. Previous experience of embryo biopsy and training junior staff is an advantage, but not a necessity. Successful applicants should be personable with excellent communication skills, enabling them to deal with patients directly and liaise with colleagues – being a ‘team-player’ is essential. There is some flexibility to provide either full or part time hours, depending on the mix of applicants.
