Role objective:

The Content Director will guide and manage the day-to-day responsibilities of the Content Marketing Team which sits at the heart of Berkeley’s ever-evolving development as an integrated agency.

This role requires a thorough understanding of managing multiple content workflows from concept to execution, a passion for innovative content creation, and proven experience in supervising a small but highly versatile team.

The ideal candidate will possess brilliant organisational skills, exceptional creative flair, and bring passion and team spirit to business meetings, pitches, and client brainstorms.

Being responsible for planning, managing, and monitoring all content activities within the Content Marketing Team calendar, your role will involve determining a client’s initial creative direction, schedule, and scope, and then ensuring all content deliverables meet the highest standards of quality and creativity.

Setting the example for storytelling and content excellence within the agency, the Content Director will work closely with the Head of Content to develop new business opportunities and implement content initiatives and services. You will also provide insight, intelligence, and strategic direction for the Content Marketing Team to fulfil both client and company objectives.

The Content Director will work alongside the agency’s PR teams to manage client expectations and communicate to each stakeholder at every step of a content project, thereby maintaining successful relationships and quality service delivery.

Key responsibilities:

  • Full responsibility for planning, managing, and monitoring all content activities within the Content Marketing Team calendar, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery.
  • Oversee deliverables, deadlines, and day-to-day responsibilities.
  • Ensure all content activities meet the highest standards of creativity.
  • Set performance goals and mentor individual team members. Make sure Berkeley’s business goals, values, operating objectives, and standards of performance are clearly communicated and understood through direct line management.
  • Plan, develop, and oversee the execution of content strategies to support business objectives for clients within agreed timescales and budgets.
  • Foster and maintain client relationships, as well as internal teams and the wider agency, by functioning as a senior source of content counsel across the business.
  • Project manage client content development, acting as a driving force to ensure the agency and all teams involved deliver on client expectations.
  • Having achieved the first level of Storytelling accreditation, Berkeley’s storytelling philosophy will be second nature in written and verbal work. Promote Berkeley’s Storytelling Academy with a view to achieving additional revenue through the Academy.
