Job description

Are you an experienced Senior Information Security Engineer able to introduce and improve policies, processes and tools necessary to prevent, detect, document and counter threats and risks to our business?

Scott Logic builds large-scale, bespoke, business-critical systems for some of the world's most high-profile organisations. The business is expanding and we're in need of talented and self-motivated Information Security Engineers to help ensure we keep the business running securely.

To be suitable for our Information Security role you'll be a critical thinker, looking for an exciting and challenging role in a thought-leading UK-based software consultancy that prides itself on delivering the best in bespoke software to a varied portfolio of global clients.

You'll be surrounded by smart, highly capable people in a collaborative environment that encourages helping others by sharing knowledge and experience. We're keen to build upon our ISO27001 accreditation and advance our internal security practices and capabilities.

You should have:
  • At least one professional security certification and at least three years of commercial experience.
  • Strong familiarity with the ISO27001 standard and Cyber Security Essentials.
  • Familiarity with GDPR and data protection good practices.
  • Risk management expertise, including performing assessments and designing controls.
  • A proven ability to respond to and resolve cyber incidents effectively and efficiently.
  • Experience in developing, managing and monitoring security systems.
  • Ability to liaise with internal teams and key stakeholders to maintain a secure environment.
  • Experience providing input into ongoing and new projects.
  • Expertise in designing and implementing information security controls in cloud environments.

It would also be great if you have:
  • Experience using Microsoft Security tooling.
  • Familiarity with ISO9001.
  • Awareness of how to manage MacOS and mobile devices.
  • Expertise in securing public cloud environments (AWS, GCP and Azure).
  • Hands-on experience managing SIEM tools.
  • Experience automating tasks using programming/scripting languages such as PowerShell, Puppet or Bash.

Our people enjoy working in an environment where they can grow and succeed together. We hire people who align with our core values of Passion, Excellence, Collaboration, Respect and Professionalism.

This role is based in our city centre office and will likely involve occasional travel (infrequent day trips or a few days at a time) to visit our other city centre offices across the UK and overseas. We are mindful of the imbalances in our sector.

We celebrate multiple and varied approaches and points of view. We believe diversity drives innovation and we commit to maintaining and improving an open and creative workplace, where everyone can contribute irrespective of race, religion, colour, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital status or disability.
