School Science Technician - Job in Rotherham Education & Training Jobs

We are seeking a dedicated School Science Technician to join a thriving secondary school in Rotherham. This role is set to begin in March 2025 and will continue until July 2025, offering a fantastic opportunity to make a real impact in the academic year.

As a School Science Technician, you will play a key role in supporting the science department by preparing materials, maintaining equipment, and ensuring the smooth running of practical lessons. Your work will directly contribute to the education and training of students, helping to inspire the next generation of scientists.

Key Details:

1. Location: Rotherham
2. Start Date: March 2025
3. End Date: July 2025
4. Contract: Temporary supply via Academics
5. Hours: 8:00am - 2:30pm, Monday to Friday
6. Pay Rate: £100 - £130 per day (dependent on experience)

Responsibilities:

1. Prepare and set up equipment for science experiments.
2. Maintain and manage science resources and laboratories.
3. Support teachers and students during practical lessons.
4. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
5. Contribute to the education and training of students by creating an engaging learning environment.

Requirements:

1. Previous experience as a school science technician or in a similar role is desirable.
2. A strong understanding of secondary level science subjects (Biology, Chemistry, and Physics).
3. Excellent organisational and communication skills.
4. A commitment to supporting education and training in a school setting.
5. A full, enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or a willingness to obtain a new one.
