What you'll do

As a Security Engineer you will take technical ownership of the Vodafone service to the customer account, support management and provide inspired technical leadership to a team of highly skilled engineers working on a key blue chip account that is strategically critical to both Vodafone and UK PLC.

It is essential that the candidate will be able to interface with all levels of management and account teams both internally and with customer representatives, providing a 'best in class' level of support in and where required out of hours.

1. Support account management with technical skills and coaching of team members.
2. Communicate with internal and external stakeholders, to a high level of technical detail, whilst ensuring simplicity of resolution communications.
3. Support colleagues with fault finding and troubleshooting on customer critical systems.
4. Provide technical insight to key faults and scenarios where service is under threat or impacted and where customer representatives required face to face support to overcome outages.
5. Perform RCA and provide solutions based on output to mitigate any future instances, or provide visibility of impact should analysis not be implemented.
6. Coach and mentor Engineers to ensure technical standards are met and maintained.
7. Provide a key point of escalation for technical issues between the customer and Vodafone.

Who you are

1. Adaptability and the ability to learn new skills quickly.
2. Industry-leading technical knowledge gained in a telecoms or service provider.
3. In depth understanding of modern Networking and Protocols (OSI Layers 1-7).
4. VPN Technologies (ipsec, SSL VPN, DMVPN and FlexVPN).
5. Valid / full UK driving license.
6. Eligibility for BPSS / SC clearance.

Essential

1. Minimum of CCNA Network and/or CCNA Security (CCNP Highly desirable).

Desirable

1. Checkpoint CCSA/CCSE.
2. Linux / Windows server build, maintenance and management.
3. F5 LTM, GTM and Proxy Configuration/Management.
4. Authentication Management (RSA SecurID, Cisco ACS/ISE, TACACS+ and RADIUS).
