We are seeking a UK-based Senior Product Associate to join our growing product team and help deliver cutting-edge features and services with a strong focus on technical project execution.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
As a Senior Product Associate at OPTO, you will operate at the intersection of product management and technical project management. You'll work closely with product leaders, designers, engineers, and stakeholders to define product features, manage project timelines, and ensure successful end-to-end delivery of initiatives. Your role will combine strategic product thinking with meticulous technical oversight, ensuring that solutions not only meet market needs but are executed with operational and technical excellence.
Technical Project Management & Execution
- Develop comprehensive project plans including tasks, timelines, resources, dependencies, and critical milestones.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams—engineering, design, QA, and other stakeholders—to ensure seamless execution and timely delivery of product features.
- Act as a liaison between technical and non-technical teams, translating complex technical requirements into accessible project plans and communicating progress, risks, and adjustments as needed.
- Oversee technical deliverables such as API integrations, data pipelines, and system architecture to ensure alignment with product goals and technical best practices.
Strategy & Feature Development:
- Collaborate with the product leadership team to define and refine product roadmaps.
- Help draft and maintain detailed PRDs, feature specifications, and acceptance criteria, ensuring development teams have clear, actionable requirements.
Data-Driven Decision-Making & Continuous Improvement:
- Leverage analytics tools and performance metrics to assess feature adoption, user engagement, and overall product health.
- Use insights to prioritize backlog items, guide iterative improvements, and optimize the user experience.
- Integrate AI-driven tools to streamline research, prioritization, and performance monitoring, increasing the team's productivity and effectiveness.
Risk Management & Quality Assurance:
- Identify, assess, and proactively mitigate project risks, ensuring minimal impact on timelines and deliverables.
- Establish quality standards and review processes to maintain high-quality outcomes that align with OPTO's strategic vision.
- Implement continuous improvement practices, learning from each initiative to enhance future product delivery methodologies.
Stakeholder Engagement & Communication:
- Serve as a key point of contact for product-related inquiries, updates, and decision-making discussions.
- Provide regular progress reports to leadership, highlighting accomplishments, challenges, and recommended next steps.
- Align stakeholders on project goals, timelines, scope, and expectations, facilitating smooth collaboration and consensus-building.
What We Look For:
- 2-3 years in product/technical project management, or a related role within a FinTech or technology-focused environment.
- Proven track record of delivering complex product features on time and within scope.
- Deep understanding of Agile development processes, SDLC, and modern project management tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence).
- Technical familiarity with APIs, software integrations, and basic architectural principles to ensure feasible and scalable solutions.
- Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills: Comfort with analytics platforms and user behaviour tracking tools.
- Data-driven approach to decision-making and iterative product improvements.
- Experience with UX principles and improving user journeys, particularly in mobile applications. Certifications in project management (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2 or a technical discipline are a plus.
