Middlesbrough Council are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Public Health Officer to support the North East Reducing Gambling Harms network.
The post will contribute to the delivery of a regional programme of work, addressing the harms and inequalities associated with gambling. Due to the programme’s footprint, this post is being recruited on behalf of the North East Association of Directors of Public Health and each local authority in the region.
“All members of society have the right to live without unnecessary and preventable risk to health and safety from gambling products and gambling industry practices, whether land-based or online” Association of Directors of Public Health.
The network is a new, dedicated multi-agency partnership approach with representation from public health, licensing and the NHS. It will also involve working alongside academic partners to embed a culture of test, evaluate, learn and report.
This will enable a robust multi-method evaluation approach to be applied to interventions and support for knowledge mobilisation and wider dissemination. You can find out more about the programme.
