Site Technician, Carlisle

Site Technician - Required to join their offices in East Kilbride, Stoke and Carlisle. Our client is a leading specialist in delivering high-quality geotechnical testing of construction and civil engineering materials.

The Site Technician will be to prepare samples for testing activities and carry out tests using manual equipment. The Site Technician will liaise with the site supervisory contacts to ensure all works are completed to the customer's requirements satisfactorily. They will also be able to evaluate technical documents such as construction plans and customer specifications.

Materials Testing Technician / Site Technician Position Remuneration

1. Salary: £24,000 - £28,000 - (depending on previous experience)

7. Hours: 0800 - 17:00 Mon- Fri (40 Hour)- (The nature of the sectors we support will from time to time require the candidate to work overtime, weekends, nightshifts and away from home so flexibility is essential).

Materials Testing Technician / Site Technician Position Overview

1. Liaise with site supervisory contacts to ensure all works are completed to the customer's requirements satisfactorily.
2. Liaise with other site teams to ensure all works are completed satisfactorily.
3. Carry out tests with manual equipment.
4. Ensure all tests are carried out in line with our UKAS accreditation.
5. Prepare samples for testing activities.
6. Carry out routine maintenance, cleaning, and checking of equipment.
7. Be able to evaluate technical documents such as construction plans and customer specifications.
8. Be willing to travel for extended periods of time to our customer's projects.
9. This role will involve outdoor working and potentially night shift and weekend work.
10. Advise senior technicians and operational members of staff when quality standards are being compromised and take appropriate action to rectify quality issues.
11. Use tablets to record test information when out on site and within the laboratory.
12. Ensure all worksheets are completed correctly.
13. Ensure all worksheets are submitted at the end of your shift.
14. Maintain effective and efficient working relationships within the laboratory and when out on site.

Materials Testing Technician / Site Technician Position Requirements

1. Full clean driving license
2. Construction industry experience preferable
3. Computer literacy including a good understanding of Microsoft Word & Excel
4. A good standard of English and Mathematics
5. Able to perform physical tasks for long periods
6. Excellent organisational skills
7. Excellent communication skills
8. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
9. Flexibility for occasional overnight stays
