Decision Inc. UK is looking for an experienced Managing Principal to lead end-to-end Planning and Consolidation engagements in SAP Technologies.

Managing Principals should have a thorough knowledge of this area of functional and technical expertise, taking full ownership of enterprise-wide SAP BPC, SAC, SAP BFC and/or SAP Group Reporting projects in complex, multi-national, large-scale global clients.

The Managing Principals form part of Decision Inc. UK's management team and fulfil leadership roles across the five core competencies: client leadership, commercial, knowledge, people leadership and delivery effectiveness.

What Will You Do? | Key Responsibilities

Delivery Effectiveness

  • Lead large, T&M and fixed cost implementations, manage the achievement of build on time, to budget, and with the expected quality. Define project roles and responsibilities and identify and secure required resources.
  • Guarantee that project documentation is prepared with the required level of quality, take full ownership for documentation sign-off, and manage the resolution of issues and identification of change requests.
  • Manage project issues and risks and take ownership of the implementation of mitigation initiatives.
  • Discuss different project delivery approaches and define and implement project governance activities with the client.
  • Keep the client well informed and protect Decision Inc. against potential commercial risks.
  • Promote and lead by example on the adoption of project testing methodologies.

Commercial Success

  • Contribute to team commercial success by maintaining high client satisfaction and unlocking client opportunities, providing presales support and maximising personal utilisation. Drive the team to minimise project overruns.
  • Identify ways to increase the value of Decision Inc., such as winning new business opportunities and creating methodologies.
  • Fully understand commercial and legal components of a bid and contribute to and/or review bids. Support the commercial team in the preparation of complex proposals ensuring that client needs are met, and occasionally lead the preparation and negotiation of commercial proposals.
  • Constantly look for ways to increase account values of the projects under your management.

Client Relationships

  • Cultivate strong relationships with senior, high-profile clients and be seen as a trusted strategic partner with a rich understanding of clients' business environment.
  • Build immediate credibility with clients and demonstrate trusted relationships with clients at the most senior levels.
  • Demonstrate the use of facilitation, negotiation, and influencing skills with the client and within groups.
  • Advise clients and write business cases to support proposed BPC implementations and Finance & IT strategy.
  • Maintain senior management and other stakeholder interest and buy-in to the project.

People Leadership

  • Build on an established presence, network, and profile. Lead by example and play a key role in building team culture.
  • Be a role model to other team members who always promote professional behaviour.
  • Seek ways to improve the skillsets of others and work towards developing them, including coaching and mentoring junior team members.
  • Give functional and technical guidance to the team.
  • Lead and manage consultants in a manner that motivates and develops them.

Knowledge

  • Position yourself as a known technical leader across the business, impacting beyond your current client project.
  • Leverage previous experience to propose best practice solutions to fulfil business requirements.
  • Be seen as a respected content leader in a particular functional or technical area.
  • Understand accounting, budgeting, and forecasting principles and lead functional design activities.
  • Take ownership of overall solution architecture and document solutions with the correct level of detail.
  • Actively lead and contribute to the development of our best practices and methodology.

Who Do You Need To Be?

  • Strong knowledge of accounting, consolidation, budgeting, and forecasting principles.
  • A relevant qualification such as a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field, and professional certifications like CIMA, ACCA, or CA are highly desirable.
  • 10+ years of experience in financial planning and analysis (FP&A), with a strong focus on delivering large-scale FP&A projects.
  • A proven track record of leading end-to-end FP&A projects from a delivery perspective.
  • Exposure to major FP&A projects, ideally with experience working with large, multinational clients.
  • Expertise in SAP BPC, SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) for Planning or SAP Group Reporting would be highly beneficial.
  • The ability to translate business needs into functional and technical solutions.
  • Excellent relationship management skills, with a proven ability to cultivate strong relationships with senior stakeholders.
  • Commercial acumen, capable of contributing to bids, preparing proposals, and driving opportunities.
  • A natural leader and mentor, able to inspire, guide, and develop team members.
