Job description

Exciting opportunity to join our team as a Casual Residential Worker.

We are looking for a Casual Children's Residential Worker to join our fantastic team.

You will support two children in a lovely home, supported by a team of 7 colleagues.

We are seeking to appoint suitably skilled, motivated, and caring individuals to work with and support children and young people aged between 9 to 17 years.

There are times when children and young people in care require additional support to manage complex trauma.

Placements that are warm, supportive, and have a homely feel are hard to find, which can result in multiple placement breakdowns before a suitable placement that can manage risks and social and emotional needs is found. This leads to vulnerable young people being placed far from home and not always achieving the best outcomes. We provide loving homes for children to remain in Wakefield and receive the best possible care.

This post requires an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual with good communication skills. You will need to be organized and confident in interactions with children and young people.

You will hold an NVQ3 / Diploma in Caring for Children and Young People, or be willing to work to achieve this qualification within two years of appointment.

Effective induction, supervision, and training will be provided to all staff.

The work involves shift patterns, including weekends, sleep-ins, and bank holidays on a casual basis to support the team.
