The Role
Management Accountant delivers accounting services for both Business Unit and Operating Entity reporting purposes, and analysis to assist with internal business planning processes.

The individual is responsible for ensuring that their activities align with Group policy in order to achieve targets, meet monthly, quarterly and annual reporting deadlines, assist with the development of the business and deliver an excellent and comprehensive service.

What you'll be doing

1. Production of monthly management accounting and reporting information to a strict timetable for business units within the Group
2. Production of general ledgers journals, including involvement in the Group intercompany reconciliation process
3. Preparation of month end journals, including accruals, divisional recharges and recurring charges
4. Ownership and preparation of balance sheet account reconciliations, including investigation and resolution of identified issues/concerns within Group framework
5. Assist with the production of information and data for VAT and tax returns, including those for any overseas companies and branches.
6. Continual development of reporting solutions
7. Ad-hoc management reporting and financial analysis
8. Keep informed of all regulatory and legal changes which impacts on the job role
9. Ensure that up to date records are maintained at all times on the Company systems
10. Responds appropriately and accurately to urgent issues as they arise
11. Update existing/build new processes and procedures documents relevant to job role to ensure documents are current and accurate

Who we're looking for

4. Good interpersonal skills and communication skills (written and verbal)
5. Able to work in a fast paced environment
6. Previous experience of operating as an Accountant within a large corporate group is desirable
7. An understanding of payroll and previous experience/exposure to payroll reports and postings desirable not but crucial
8. Technical knowledge of financial reporting under UK accounting standards

Qualifications

Professional accountancy qualification or Passed Finalist with a recognised body (ACCA/CIMA etc) or qualified by experience
