Childcare Early Years Practitioner Apprentice who has a genuine interest in working with young children and supporting their development is required for an apprenticeship with a well-established nursery in Harrow, London.

SALARY: Competitive

LOCATION: Harrow, London (HA1)

JOB TYPE: Full-Time / Part-Time Apprenticeship Contract

WORKING HOURS: 30 / 40 Hours per Week

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Childcare Early Years Practitioner Apprentice who has a genuine interest in working with young children and supporting their development.

The nursery school is committed to providing quality education and safe childcare, giving each child from 3 months to 5 years old a happy, healthy and stimulating start to their lives. They aim to meet the individual needs of children by carrying out observations and assessments along the Early Years Statutory Framework to develop their skills, positive behaviours, knowledge and confidence required in their later years and to provide the children and their families with a sound foundation to transition into school life.

The nursery school is expanding their team and looking for passionate and talented Childcare Early Years Practitioner Apprentice to join their nursery team.

We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic apprentice to join the team and gain valuable hands-on experience while working towards a nationally recognised childcare qualification.

DUTIES

As a Childcare Early Years Practitioner Apprentice you will work alongside experienced childcare professionals to provide a safe, stimulating, and caring environment for children aged [0-5 years]. You will learn how to support children’s development, encourage learning through play, and assist in daily nursery operations while completing your apprenticeship training.

Your responsibilities will include:

  1. Assist in the planning and delivery of age-appropriate activities that support children’s development
  2. Help to supervise and ensure the safety of children at all times
  3. Support children with personal care routines, including feeding, changing, and toileting
  4. Develop positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues
  5. Observe and monitor children’s progress, contributing to their learning journeys
  6. Maintain a clean, organised, and stimulating learning environment
  7. Follow safeguarding, health and safety, and nursery policies at all times
  8. Attend staff meetings, training sessions, and work towards achieving your qualification
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
  1. A genuine passion for working with young children and supporting their development
  2. Eagerness to learn and work towards a Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Early Years Education
  3. Good communication and teamwork skills
  4. Ability to follow instructions and take initiative
  5. A caring, patient, and enthusiastic attitude
  6. GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths (preferred but not essential)
  7. A willingness to complete any necessary safeguarding and first aid training
