Our client, a well-established global logistics & freight forwarding company who pride themselves on innovation and ensuring customer care is met to the highest level within their growing digital world, are looking to recruit a Multi Modal Freight Operator, to be based at offices in Basildon, Essex.

Main Purpose of the Role:

Reporting to the Multi Modal Freight Manager, handling various elements of Air freight forwarding movements (domestic and international) with a goal to take on and assist the Multimodal team with trade movements. Aspects of the role will also focus on covering Sea Export Operations, and Cross Trades.

Other Duties and Responsibilities of the Multi-Modal Freight Operator:

• Liaising with Company offices
• Liaising with all suppliers
• Liaising with Customs Dept to arrange customs clearances.
• Liaising with our own and other 3rd party warehouses when required
• Liaising with local transport companies to organise final end deliveries
• Internal Systems & Departments – Cross functional requirements
• Liaising with internal accounts depts to ensure payments are received and client accounts are up to date prior to releasing cargo
• Utilising Forward Solutions (Forward Office Freight System, previously known as FCL)
• Daily use of Destin8/CNS systems
• Previous experience with handling air freight forwarding operations
• Import customs entry an advantage. (tariff classification, duty calculations etc)
• Bill of Lading Experience
• Professional and confident telephone manner
