Materials Planner (H/F)

Carbon60 are proud to be partnering with Lufthansa Technik Landing Gear Services to recruit for a Material Planner (Stores) within the Production Control department. Lufthansa Technik are a global leading provider of maintenance, repair, and overhaul services for the civil aviation industry.

This Material Planner position is on a permanent basis and has become available due to continued growth and expansion. The purpose of this role is to ensure that the supply of materials meet the production schedule to ensure operational and production continuity.

  • The ability to deliver efficient and flexible solutions to meet production targets.
  • Maintain strong relationships with all departments to ensure supply of materials meets requirements.

Role Responsibilities will include:

  • Provide and maintain the schedule for the supply of 'externally provided' materials to meet production requirements, based on the master schedule.
  • Day to day Work Order materials management, including 'sourcing' internally from stock or informing purchasing of requirements, oversight of management of picks from stores.
  • Input to sourcing decisions from other live work Orders.
  • Assess volume requirements against planning assumptions and ensure that stock processes are consistent with the production plan requirements.
  • Understand, highlight and assess areas of materials risk to minimise impact on production schedule and the delivery of the plan.
  • Ensure actions are in place and controlled for all parts of the materials supply process.
  • Utilise any material requirements planning system (MRP/ERP) or IT system that is in place and ensure that data is accurate and up to date.
  • Monitor the integrity of bill of materials (BOM) and provide feedback to stores on inventory accuracy.
  • Continually plan, develop, implement and evaluate processes for material issue to 'production point of use'.
  • Monitor inventory levels against agreed target levels and aid logistics in setting safety stocks, based on the production output requirements.

Skills and Experience required:

  • Experience in Material planning.
  • Experience within the aviation industry.
  • Proven use of advanced interaction with ERP system.
  • SAP Knowledge.
  • Competent in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Knowledge of BoM, Route and fundamental production planning concepts (forward and backward scheduling / MRP).
  • Understanding of LEAN / JIT / Process improvement techniques, ideally with some practical implementation experience.

Double day shifts - Monday to Friday one week 6am to 2pm and one week 2pm to 10pm rotating weekly.

Up to £30,807.17 including shift pay.
