What we are looking for:
  • Experience of working in a management/ financial accounting function or recently graduated with a can do attitude.
  • Studying/Actively looking to study for a CCAB professional qualification
  • Knowledge of management accounting and costing procedures, financial regulations and other legislation and NHS finance policies (desirable).
  • Track record of achieving objectives and problem solving.
  • Knowledge of accountancy procedures and principles.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to utilise them to communicate effectively within a co-operative multi-disciplinary and team-based working environment.

The post holder will assist in the provision of financial support and advice to Budget holders and be an integral part of a central financial reporting team reporting to the Finance Business Partner.

The post holder will assist the Finance Business Partners and Head of Business Partnering in ensuring that robust monitoring information is provided to enable directorates to manage their financial position and the Trust to fulfil its financial duties.

Essential criteria
  • Degree educated or equivalent
  • Studying/Actively looking to study for a CCAB professional qualification
Experience
Essential criteria
  • Demonstrated adaptability and a proactive willingness to learn new skills, systems, and processes, regardless of prior industry experience
Desirable criteria
  • Previous experience in a financial role or a related industry
  • Preferably a minimum of a year’s experience in a management accounting function. Ie a placement year
Skills and Knowledge
Essential criteria
  • High level numeracy skills, competent in processing and interpreting figures.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to utilise them to communicate effectively within a co-operative multi-disciplinary and team-based working environment.
  • Ability to form, build, develop and maintain positive and effective working relationships with people from a wide range of personal and professional backgrounds
  • Able to summarise and communicate complex finance information to non-finance personnel
  • Able to draft, type, format, prepare and produce a wide range of high quality documentation, letters, emails, memos, statistical information, graphics, presentations and short reports.
  • Excellent data analysis skills for interpretation and comparison of complex data from various sources.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of confidentiality issues regarding patients, staff and sensitive Trust matters
