Job description

Our client is seeking an experienced technical solar PV professional with a background in large-scale roof and ground-mounted systems and sound electrical knowledge. This sector-leading business is dedicated to the nation's net-zero ambitions and energy decarbonisation.

Responsibilities
  1. Provision of technical management and oversight at tender stage to ensure projects are assessed and PV systems design, specification, performance, quality, and project timescales are deliverable.
  2. Management of the installation team to ensure technical compliance.
  3. Developing good working relationships with clients, consultants, sub-contractors, and suppliers.
  4. Liaising with suppliers, site staff, and installation teams.
  5. Solar PV / Electrical contracting installations - average of 1MW rooftop and 5-20MW private wire ground-mounted systems.
  6. Specification and procurement of materials and equipment.
  7. Issuance of Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS).
  8. Maintaining documentation accurately and updating QMS.
Requirements
  1. Previous experience delivering roof-mounted and ground-mounted Solar PV projects.
  2. Battery storage modelling experience.
  3. HV/LV connection knowledge (ideally with DNO background).
  4. Engineering technical excellence and pride in work/project outcomes.
  5. Strong Project Management skills, ensuring optimal design and costs on all projects.
  6. Minimum 3 years' experience managing commercial-scale solar PV projects and teams, in addition to managing UK DNO G99 & G100 requirements and conditions.
  7. Ability to interpret PV and electrical designs.

  3. Relevant experience working within the renewables sector, ideally commercial Solar PV, Energy Efficiency, and an operational/project management type role.
  4. Electrical contracting experience will be well regarded as well as HSE qualifications (SMSTS, IOSH).
  5. Problem-solving needs to be something you enjoy and are good at. A strong drive to deliver on time, on budget, and on quality is essential.
Salary

The package on offer for this role includes an attractive basic salary up to £75,000 (depending on experience) and a profit share bonus.

Location

Our client's head offices are based in the South West, with contracts across the UK. The role will be predominantly office-based with occasional site visits.
