The SchoolThis is a friendly and supportive SEN School that works closely with children diagnosed with Autism. This particular SEN School is located in the North West of London and is rated Outstanding by Ofsted. The school has parking at the main site in addition to off-street parking, making it easily accessible for those who drive and is within walking distance from the local stations. The school has a strong ethos that is implemented every day. The staff have created a high morale and want to ensure they provide a safe and comfortable space for everyone.
The SEN Teacher RoleIdeally, the successful applicant will have a proven track record working as a SEN Teacher in an SEN environment, but the Headteacher will happily consider anyone who is looking to transition from a mainstream setting.
The successful SEN Teacher will be teaching 9 KS5 students with ASD/SLD. There is a mixture of verbal and non-verbal students.
The successful SEN Teacher will need to be committed, flexible, and resilient with the ability to use their own initiative where required. Experience working in an SEN school or with ASD children would be desirable but not essential.
Progress with these pupils can be slow when compared to their contemporaries, so patience, a caring nature, passion for the job, and strong self-belief will be essential.
