Trainee Laboratory Technician – Degree Apprenticeship – Chemical Science
Are you looking for a fantastic opportunity to start your career in life sciences? We are searching for a motivated individual to join us on a Degree Apprenticeship as a Trainee Laboratory Technician within our Analytical Team. This is an exciting opportunity to develop your scientific technical skills working in an innovative and fast-growing Contract Research Organisation (CRO).
Gentronix is located at Alderley Park in the north-west UK. We are committed to helping our clients develop safer chemicals and medicines, using innovative screening platforms as well as GLP regulatory tests to detect hazard, understand mode-of-action, and help manage risk.
Comprising a team of over 60 employees with a range of experiences from within the pharmaceutical, agrochemical, and CRO industries, our team has extensive expertise in the fields of genetic and skin/ocular toxicology. As an Apprentice, you will work closely with our team of experienced scientists, learning how to perform tasks to support the running of the analytical lab, supported by theoretical learning. You will have the opportunity to support method development, validation, and dose formulation analysis by preparing mobile phase, calibrating and checking equipment, preparing workbooks, maintaining records, organizing and labeling consumables, and conducting basic High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) maintenance. You will be fully trained by our team to operate to high standards within a GLP (Good Laboratory Practice) accredited laboratory, and the work you do will ensure the efficient and smooth operation of the laboratory.
