Trailblazing Digital Marketing leader ready to drive innovation in biotech. Ultragenyx is seeking a visionary Digital Marketing Director to shape and execute cutting-edge omnichannel and multichannel strategies that will transform the way we engage with healthcare professionals and patients. Work Model:

Remote: Officially documented as working full-time from home, with travel to Ultragenyx's offices or other locations on occasion as needed.

Responsibilities:
  1. Strategic Leadership:
    • Architect and drive a bold, future-forward digital strategy that aligns with Ultragenyx’s commercial and brand objectives.
    • Lead the evolution of digital engagement, integrating cutting-edge tools, automation, and personalization strategies.
    • Spearhead process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and maximize marketing ROI.
  2. Campaign Design & Execution:
    • Design and execute high-impact, data-driven digital campaigns that resonate with key audiences.
    • Oversee content lifecycle management, ensuring seamless, compliant, and optimized distribution across platforms.
    • Champion a customer-centric approach, leveraging behavioral insights to refine targeting and messaging.
  3. Enablement & Collaboration:
    • Lead and inspire stakeholders to embrace omnichannel excellence and adopt best-in-class engagement strategies.
    • Act as a digital evangelist, facilitating knowledge-sharing and fostering a culture of continuous innovation.
  4. Performance & Optimization:
    • Establish a data-driven framework to define, track, and optimize key performance indicators (KPIs) across all digital initiatives.
    • Leverage advanced analytics, market insights and real-time data to continuously refine campaign effectiveness and maximize ROI.
    • Implement A/B testing, audience segmentation, and personalization strategies to enhance engagement and conversion rates.
  5. Operational Excellence:
    • Manage the digital marketing budget, overseeing third-party vendors and ensuring ROI-driven investments.
    • Lead operational projects to deliver best-in-class digital initiatives on time and with maximum impact.
Requirements:
  1. Education & Experience:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Life Sciences, or a related field; MBA preferred.
    • 10+ years of experience in digital marketing, with a strong preference for biotech or pharmaceutical industry experience.
    • A proven track record of leading successful digital marketing strategies and campaigns.
  2. Skills & Expertise:
    • Deep knowledge of multichannel and omnichannel marketing strategies and platforms.
    • Proficiency in SEO, SEM, and digital tools such as Veeva, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Adobe, and AMC (Advanced Marketing Cloud).
    • Strong analytical mindset with a history of data-driven decision-making.
    • Experience in agency management and cross-functional collaboration.
    • Ability to navigate a dynamic, fast-paced environment, balancing strategic vision with hands-on execution.
    • Experience working with field teams is essential.
  3. Travel:
    • Business travel approximately 30%.

The typical annual salary range for this full-time position is listed below. This range reflects the characteristics of the job, such as required skills and qualifications and is based on the office location noted in this job posting. The range may also be adjusted based on applicant's geographic location.
This position is eligible for annual bonus and equity incentives. Actual individual pay is determined by demonstrated experience and internal equity alignment.
Pay Range
$216,400—$267,300 USD
