Job description

Loom Talent are delighted to be supporting one of our National Accounts with a number of Transport Team Manager & Planner vacancies at their Feltham DC.

Due to the continued success and growth of our client, they are opening a new Distribution site and require additional talent across Transport Operations.

Working as part of this busy team, you will play a vital role coordinating the movement of goods across the country in a safe and efficient way. Key responsibilities will include:

  1. Route and load planning using in-house Transport Management System.
  2. Providing a high level of support to all drivers and front line staff.
  3. Working with outsourced transport partners to ensure a cost-effective solution is provided.
  4. Working closely with internal departments to ensure goods are scheduled and dispatched appropriately and to the plan tracking and monitoring.
  5. Ensuring all documentation and reports are completed, distributed, and appropriately recorded.
  6. Providing world-class service to customers, keeping them informed of any changes to the plan as required and building strong relationships.
  7. Identifying possible areas that require improvements within the department and proactively finding appropriate solutions.

To be successful in this role, you will meet the following criteria:

  1. Ability to work a 4 on 4 off shift pattern for either fixed days or fixed nights - Essential.
  2. Previous experience of Transport Supervision and Planning with a strong knowledge of the challenges faced - Essential.
  3. The ability to work under pressure and to deadlines - Essential.
  4. A positive mindset and willingness to work as part of a large team to achieve common goals - Essential.
  5. Previous experience working with some TMS and Planning systems as well as the ability to quickly learn new systems - Essential.
