Job description

Electronic Engineering Trials Lead

Location: Stevenage

Salary: Up to £55,000

Headline Benefits: A bonus of up to £2,500, Paid Overtime, Strong pension, 25 days annual leave with the option for a further 15 additional days flexi leave, enhanced parental leave. Typically, you will be on-site 3 days a week.

The Electronic Engineering Trials Lead Role:

This pivotal role ensures that electronic and electromechanical sub-systems in the development phase are rigorously tested and verified against required environmental conditions. You will be responsible for translating verification plans and requirements into structured trial instructions, overseeing test execution and delivering high-quality trial reports to support critical certification activities, all while maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality.

As part of a Proving Engineering team, you'll work closely with sub-system and test equipment design teams as well as EMC, mechanical, and climatic testing experts. You will bring qualification campaigns from paper to reality, ensuring rigorous and reliable testing at our facilities.

Additionally, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with safety, quality, and security specialists to uphold strict compliance and industry best practices, providing essential evidence to qualify both early-stage and mature designs before production.

Electronic Engineering Trials Lead experience required:

  1. A strong understanding of electronic and mechanical engineering fundamentals.
  2. Knowledge of EMC and/or RF testing.
  3. Familiarity with actuator and radio technologies.
  4. Experience in producing structured trial instructions and high-quality test reports.
  5. Ability to interpret specifications, design documents, and safety sheets.
  6. Proven experience of conducting field and/or lab trials.
  7. Experience of testing hardware in mechanical, climatic, and EMC environments.
  8. Experience of setting up test equipment and Units Under Test (UUTs).
  9. Handling ESD-sensitive devices.
