Our client, based in South Cambridge, is looking for a Warehouse Manager to join their growing business.

Job Description

This is a permanent, full-time role (37.5hrs per week). Reporting to the MD, the Warehouse Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the warehouse, fire marshal duties, and site health and safety. Due to the rural location, candidates will need to have their own transport.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Maintaining a safe working environment including managing building facilities, air con, fire and intruder systems, compactor, and forklift services.
  • First Aider and Fire Marshal.
  • First responder for out of hours callouts.
  • Ensuring daily machine checks are carried out.
  • Organising counterbalance & narrow aisle forklift training and maintenance.
  • Liaising with Sales office to ensure customer orders are met.
  • Monitoring any customer complaints.
  • Allocating orders to warehouse staff.
  • Liaising with couriers to arrange collection.
  • Providing packaging and delivery quotations, picking and packing of customer orders, and dispatching export customer orders.
  • Arranging collections, checking returned stock and advising of any damage.
  • Carrying out stock movements in the system.
  • Managing the replenishment of shelf stock.
  • Organising and overseeing stocktakes and rolling stock checks.
  • Ordering packaging and monitoring stock levels.
  • Managing recruitment, training, and discipline procedures.
  • Monitoring staff holiday and absence.

Candidates will need to have the following skills and experience:

  • Previous warehouse management experience.
  • Strong team working ethic.
  • Able to complete manual handling activities including heavy lifting.
  • A current fork-lift licence.
  • Good organisational skills.
  • Good communication abilities.
