About the Role:
As a PE Teacher, you will be responsible for planning and delivering exciting PE lessons across Key Stages, inspiring students to get active and develop their sporting abilities. You'll promote fitness, teamwork, and a healthy lifestyle while supporting students’ personal and social growth.
Key Responsibilities of a PE Teacher:
- Plan and deliver dynamic PE lessons for students of all abilities.
- Promote teamwork, discipline, and resilience through sports and physical activity.
- Organise and supervise extracurricular sporting events and competitions.
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that supports students’ physical and mental well-being.
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback to encourage improvement.
- Ensure a safe and engaging environment, adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and parents to enhance student development and engagement.
Requirements to be a PE Teacher:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Experience teaching PE across Key Stages, with a solid understanding of the national curriculum for PE.
- A genuine passion for promoting physical health and well-being among students.
- Strong organisational skills for coordinating sporting events and extracurricular activities.
- Excellent communication skills to motivate and inspire students.
- Up-to-date knowledge of health, fitness, and safety standards in PE.
- An updated CV with two relevant references from the last two years (covering the last ten years with no unexplained gaps).
- An enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
