Job description

Summary:

The candidate will be based in Bristol, United Kingdom and will report to the VSG Group CFO. The candidate will work closely with the CFO, Corporate Controller, Revenue Leaders, and Operations Leadership to oversee timely and accurate completion of the financial statements, provide insights into business drivers, and suggest courses of action to support profitable growth and cash flow generation. These objectives will be accomplished through the individual efforts of the Director of Finance, as well as through a team of direct reports. VSG has many growth opportunities ahead, providing significant opportunities for value-added analysis and strategic support as the company continues to scale.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Direct and monitor all financial activity of VSG UK, including all current and future locations.
  • Lead the Annual budget and re-forecast processes across the VSG UK organization.
  • In partnership with corporate accounting, manage the company cash flow.
  • Prepare financial statements monthly and annually, as needed.
  • Oversee accounting work and serve as contact for UK related audit activities.
  • Serve as key relationship partner to external tax support to meet all statutory requirements.
  • Establish and monitor KPIs/metrics for all departments to help hold them accountable to measurable goals.
  • Own and prepare monthly financial results against budget and forecasts and help provide senior leadership with insights on variances, trends, implications, and action plans.
  • Proactively anticipate business implications / future needs related to people, business, technology and help generate solutions that create and sustain value.
  • Regularly provide the sales organization with insights and analysis to better inform sales efforts.
  • Conduct analysis for and participate in strategic and tactical planning discussions including evaluating major agreements, including vendor and customer contracts.
  • Work collaboratively across multiple lines of business/functions.
  • Support growth capex investment decisions by analyzing capacity requirements and ROI impacts.
  • Partner with IT to optimally leverage and enhance current systems and processes, including potential ERP migration/s.
  • Maintain and enhance the culture and values of the organization that will provide the setting for world-class shareholder, customer, employee, and strategic partner satisfaction.
  • Oversee direct reports, providing timely and constructive feedback to further the capabilities of the team.
  • Serve as a key member of the integration team for any potential future UK acquisitions.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, Finance, Accounting or Economics preferred, MBA a plus.
  • Advanced accounting certification, such as a Chartered Accountant, ACCA, or ACMA is preferred.
  • 5+ years’ experience in a senior finance position.
  • CPG, distribution and/or manufacturing experience is a plus.
  • Experience with SQL, BI tools, data transformation and relational data models.
  • Demonstrated in-depth understanding of business and cost drivers, accounting principles, financial statement analysis and forecasting, and deep-dive analysis.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience communicating results to business leaders.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and delegate responsibilities in an effective and efficient manner.
  • Collaborative and self-starter mentality.
  • Outstanding integrity, solid moral judgment.
  • Microsoft Office suite of products, especially Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • NetSuite and/or OrderWise skills are a plus.

Physical Demands:

Sedentary Work involves exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally or a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time.

Travel Requirement up to 25%:

Responsible for a multi-site organization that will include travel away from main work location. It is expected that travel will be needed to gain understanding of the business and build relationships. Travel may also be heavier at times of specific project work that may necessitate in person meetings.
