Capability Engineer – Future Combat Air (FCA)/GCAP
The Capability team in Future Combat Air (FCA)/GCAP department at Leonardo UK work at the forefront of technologies and concepts that underpin 6th Gen combat air capabilities for Global Combat Air Programme (GCAP) as well as other national and international initiatives.
We are looking for a driven individual to provide technical and strategic support to Multifunction Processing (MFP) and Digital Backbone (DBB) areas that enable functional, software and hardware capabilities for situational awareness and non-kinetic effecting, primarily within Team Tempest portfolio to start with.
Reporting to Head of Capability - MFP/DBB, you will help to ensure convergence and coherence between the FCA and wider Leonardo GCAP capability proposal and the customer capability demands. You will liaise with Programme and Engineering delivery teams across FCA and Leonardo UK Lines of Business (LoB) to ensure customer desirements and input form part of the delivery programmes.
Degree educated, or equivalent, with career experience in Engineering R&D, and a demonstrated experience of building effective relationships with relevant project stakeholders across Government and Industry Partners. Experience in early Technology Development stages of a Programme lifecycle would be beneficial. Knowledge of and experience with situational awareness and non-kinetic effecting concepts, tools and methodologies within the Combat Air domain is highly desirable but not essential. Equally important is the ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to develop the best solutions possible.
