Ark People Housing Care
Dunfermline
GBP 10,000 - 40,000
Job description

Relief Support Workers

£12.00 per hour

The Ark service in Dunfermline supports 12 people with learning disabilities and autism. The support we offer differs from person to person which means being a support worker offers lots of variety. Some people are supported to live independently in their own homes while others stay with their families. Everyone is supported to say what they want their support to be like and what they’d like to achieve. This can vary from support to cook meals, go swimming, take medication, do arts and crafts, go to visit their friends or go on holiday.

Shifts are varied and can be from 3 – 16 hours over 7 days a week. Dunfermline has great public transport links so being able to drive is not essential to work with us.

The best thing about working at Dunfermline service is that it has a great community feel. All the supported people enjoy spending time together and regularly meet up for meals and activities. The team are really welcoming and the supported people are great fun (and have an amazing sense of humour) – Sean Montgomery – Care and Support Manager.

If you are enthusiastic about supporting people to live their best lives then apply now to join our team!

Your main duties will include but are not limited to:

  1. Working with colleagues as part of an effective and efficient team to support vulnerable people.
  2. Communicate and work well with our supported people to provide individual care and maintain appropriate relationships.
  3. Being responsible for supporting individuals throughout the activities, giving positive feedback and encouragement.
