Job description

Consultant Haematologist - South West England - Perm/FTC

Triple West Medical has been appointed by an NHS Trust based in South West England to help recruit a Consultant Haematologist for a substantive basis, and they would also consider a Locum Consultant on a 12 Months FTC.

They are one of the largest NHS Trusts in the region providing acute and community services and cover a population of over 500,000 with over 7,000 staff. The department has an active interest in clinical research and is now seeking a new member to join their team.

Responsibilities:

  1. Work in a team of consultants and junior doctors managing Haematological conditions.
  2. Manage both inpatients and outpatients.
  3. Participate in the out-of-hours On-Call service for the department, including being on-call for telephone advice and major incidents.
  4. Engage in medical audit and research as appropriate.
  5. Ensure that the requirements of clinical governance are met.
  6. Supervise and manage junior medical staff.
  7. Devote time to teaching, examination, and accreditation duties as required for junior medical staff.
