About the role

Join our dynamic Customer Engagement Team as a Community Engagement Officer, where you’ll play a key role in shaping how we engage with residents and ensure their voices drive service improvements, strategy, and business planning.

In this role, you will:

• Deliver a variety of strategic engagement activities across all council services.
• Support statutory consultations and facilitate diverse community forums and assemblies.
• Assist in developing and coordinating a borough-wide improvement plan to ensure compliance with Social Housing Regulations.
• Provide guidance to community groups and residents’ associations, empowering them to be independent and well-managed.

About you

We’re looking for an enthusiastic, creative, and community-focused individual with experience in community engagement, ideally within a local authority or other public-facing organization.

The ideal candidate will:

• Have strong communication skills and the ability to work with diverse communities.
• Be a good listener who enjoys working with people.
• Be a team player, but also confident in working independently.
• Be flexible and able to manage a busy schedule of meetings and events.
