Role Overview
Our client is a well-established firm that provides tailored financial solutions to a wide range of clients, particularly in the agriculture and property sectors. With a strong focus on personalised service and expert advice, the firm is committed to helping businesses grow and succeed.
We are looking for a highly motivated Agriculture & Property Manager to join our team in Banbury. This role is ideal for a qualified professional (ACA, ACCA, or CTA) with a strong background in accounts and tax within a practice environment. You will be responsible for managing a portfolio of rural clients, delivering bespoke accounting and tax planning solutions, and mentoring team members.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Manage a portfolio of clients in the agriculture and property sectors, delivering accounting and tax planning solutions.
  2. Serve as the main point of contact for clients, addressing queries efficiently and proactively.
  3. Develop a deep understanding of client businesses, providing strategic financial and tax advice.
  4. Identify business and tax planning opportunities, including VAT and NIC issues.
  5. Oversee the preparation and review of accounts for both corporate and unincorporated clients.
  6. Review and finalise personal tax returns and ensure timely submissions.
  7. Assist with business planning, advisory projects, and tax matters.
  8. Ensure all HMRC and compliance deadlines are met, including P11Ds and corporate reporting.
  9. Support the Agriculture & Property Department in achieving objectives through planning and effective delegation.
  10. Conduct staff appraisals, mentor junior team members, and provide training as needed.
  11. Play an active role in marketing, networking, and business development, identifying opportunities to expand the firm's client base.
  12. Assist in controlling work-in-progress (WIP) and ensure timely billing.
  13. Participate in partner-led projects, providing insights on business planning and tax strategies.

Requirements
  1. ACA, ACCA, or CTA qualified (or equivalent experience).
  2. Minimum 3 years of experience in accounts and tax within a practice environment.
  3. Experience in managing a portfolio of clients.
  4. Knowledge of MS Office and accounting software.
  5. Experience with rural businesses or property clients is desirable.
  6. Strong technical knowledge of accounts preparation and taxation.
  7. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  8. Effective communication and client relationship management skills.
  9. Proactive team management experience with the ability to mentor and develop staff.
  10. Highly organised and detail-oriented, with the ability to meet deadlines.
