Accounts Assistant
Office–Based – Manchester City Centre
GBP26,000
Working Week: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM


We are currently recruiting for an Accounts Assistant to join a leading law firm in the heart of Manchester city centre. This is an exciting opportunity for a detail–oriented and highly organised individual to join a dynamic team in a fast–growing firm. Key Responsibilities:


As an Accounts Assistant, you will assist the finance team with various financial operations, including:


  1. Monitoring and reconciling bank accounts and payments
  2. Ensuring timely and accurate payments to clients and suppliers
  3. Raising and sending Sales Invoices through CRM (Xero) to partner firms
  4. Conducting monthly client account reconciliations
  5. Identifying and implementing improvements to finance processes
  6. Managing client and office account bank reconciliations on Xero
  7. Regularly updating and monitoring the Ledger on the CRM system (Pro Claim)
  8. Overseeing billing team mailboxes and resolving any related queries
  9. Working with internal and external stakeholders to address payment and invoice issues

Skills & Experience Required:


To be successful in this role, you should have:


  1. A solid understanding of SRA rules
  2. Experience with Proclaim, Xero, and Microsoft Office (desirable but not essential)
  3. Strong attention to detail and excellent problem–solving skills
  4. Proficiency in MS Excel
  5. Ability to work independently and manage your workload effectively
  6. Experience processing and recording financial transactions in compliance with Solicitors Accounts Rules (SARS)
  7. Strong written and verbal communication skills
  8. A proactive and adaptable approach, even under pressure
  9. The ability to build and maintain professional relationships with clients, referrers, and stakeholders
  10. A willingness to stay up–to–date with relevant legislation and regulatory changes
