Security Lead (Medway Campus)

The University of Greenwich is seeking a proactive and diligent Security Campus Lead to oversee our security operations at the Medway Campus. This pivotal role combines strategic oversight and hands-on management, ensuring that our campuses remain safe, secure, and welcoming.

As the Security Campus Lead, you will be the cornerstone of our security efforts, working closely with the Facilities Management & Workplace Experience Manager to deliver top-tier security services. You'll have the autonomy to shape the security landscape, from enhancing operational procedures to leading an adept team committed to excellence. With a focus on maintaining high standards and fostering a secure environment, this position is not just a job—it's a commitment to safeguarding a vibrant academic community.

Working Pattern: Regular Monday through Friday schedule, with the expectation to conduct out-of-hours welfare checks as needed.

What you’ll do:

1. Security incidents dealt with in an appropriate and timely manner in accordance with site policy and procedure.
2. Assignment instructions are relevant and adhered to in all situations.
3. Standard operating procedures are relevant and adhered to in all situations.
4. Security concerns highlighted, addressed, and discussed with management.
5. All internal and external reports required are completed in a timely and accurate way.
6. Effective monitoring of communications systems.
7. Company and client policy and procedure adhered to.

What you bring:

1. Comprehensive knowledge of the security industry including SIA licensing regulations.
2. High levels of integrity and resilience.
3. Ability to remain calm in difficult situations.
4. Must be a competent people manager with excellent people skills.
5. Confident at building client and stakeholder relations.
6. Clear and concise communication skills.
7. Extremely flexible and can-do attitude.
8. Demonstrable experience to drive first-class security services across the campus ensuring the safety of staff, students, and visitors.
9. Must have an awareness of working within SLA’s and KPI’s.
10. Knowledge and experience of CCTV systems and associated licensing.
11. Must have working knowledge of GDPR.
12. A great eye for detail with excellent report writing skills.
