Job description

Youth Tutor

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Youth Tutor to support young learners in achieving their educational and employability goals. This role involves delivering high-quality teaching, assessment, and vocational training to ensure positive learner outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
Teaching & Learning
  1. Conduct initial learner interviews and assessments using a range of tools.
  2. Deliver engaging induction sessions, introducing learners to digital platforms, curriculum, and qualifications.
  3. Plan and deliver structured learning sessions using a variety of teaching strategies.
  4. Provide tailored support to learners, including those with additional learning needs.
  5. Observe, assess, and record learner progress, maintaining accurate records.
  6. Develop lesson plans incorporating whole-class teaching, group work, and differentiated activities.
  7. Work closely with learners' Lead Workers to identify progression opportunities.
General Duties
  1. Promote the organisation's core values.
  2. Attend training and personal development programs.
  3. Represent and promote the company to learners, employers, and stakeholders.
Requirements & Qualifications
  1. Relevant teaching/training experience.
  2. Occupational qualifications in a relevant sector.
  3. Experience working with young people.
  4. A relevant teaching or assessor qualification (or willingness to work towards one), such as:
  5. CAVA Qualification or equivalent
  6. ESW Communication Level 2
  7. AON Level 2
  8. 8375 Practitioner Award L3 or equivalent
  9. Strong organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  10. Ability to develop course materials and deliver high-quality training.
  11. Up-to-date industry knowledge and best practices.
