Newcastle College requires a dedicated, enthusiastic and qualified person to take on the role of Lecturer in Foundation Learning.
The main responsibilities of this role include the delivery and assessment of high-quality learning programmes in Foundation Learning, across a range of levels of further education, as well as undertaking a range of programme leadership, tutorial and programme administration duties.
This post requires a candidate with a strong background as a personal tutor and must have a proven track record of professional experience developing employability skills, promoting independence and planning for learners' next steps to progress further in education, employment or training.
The candidate must be qualified to honours degree level (Level 6) or qualified to the industry-recognised standard in a relevant field, hold a post-16 teaching qualification and English and maths qualifications at level 2, or be willing to achieve these within an agreed timeframe. It is desirable that the candidate has experience of effective programme leadership in FE, HE and/or Apprenticeships and has a proven track record of successful teaching and assessment practice.
An ability to self-manage workload, meet deadlines alongside strong oral and written communication skills and good IT skills are also essential. The hours of work will be flexible and may include evening and weekends according to demand.
