Qualifications

  • 5+ years' experience as a Mechanical Fitter or similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.

Responsibilities

  • Maintaining and repairing HGVs and military vehicles.
  • Diagnosing faults using technical manuals and diagnostic tools.

Job description

We're looking for an experienced Mechanical Fitter to be part of an exciting multi-year MOD project at a brand-new manufacturing facility in Stockport, Greater Manchester. If you're skilled in mechanical maintenance and want to work on cutting-edge military equipment, this is an opportunity you don't want to miss.

What will you be doing as a Mechanical Fitter?

  1. Working on one of the largest MOD projects ever awarded
  2. Maintaining and repairing HGVs and heavy-duty military vehicles
  3. Diagnosing faults using technical manuals & diagnostic tools
  4. Implementing safety, quality, and compliance procedures
  5. Collaborating with a skilled team in a high-tech environment

What do you need?

  1. 5+ years' experience as a Mechanical Fitter / Vehicle Technician / Vehicle Fitter
  2. Mechanical Engineering Certification (City & Guilds / NVQ) - desirable
  3. Experience in vehicle assembly or maintenance (desirable)
  4. Strong knowledge of hydraulic & pneumatic systems
  5. A military background (advantageous)
  6. Excellent problem-solving & teamwork skills
