Must have a phlebotomy certificate or competency sign off.
Minimum one year’s experience in drawing blood.

Re-confirm participant details and perform health checks.
Draw blood samples, label, and store them correctly.
Provide advice and ensure participant welfare during appointments.

HCA Phlebotomist for Health Checks & Phlebotomy – £18 - 25 per hour

Location: Owestry

We are looking for HCAs competent in Phlebotomy (must have certificate or competency sign off) for the following locum contract. Please email your full availability, CV and certificate if you would like to be put forward and we will be in touch.

Shift Pattern:

Monday –Friday: 0815 - 1645
Saturday: 0845 - 1615
Sunday: 1045 - 1605

To start 23rd April 2025

Responsibilities:

Responsible for re-confirming participant details before commencement of appointment.
Responsible for completing height, weight and waist measurements captured; taking heart rate and blood pressure checks and inputting result data on the system.
Responsible for drawing the two blood samples, labelling and storing correctly in fixed and mobile locations.
Checking the welfare of the participant throughout the appointment, escalating as required.
Offering signposting, advice and guidance to participants as relevant.
Responsible for preparing boxes containing samples to be collected by the courier.
Minimum of one year’s active experience drawing blood (as validated through competency checklist and references during recruitment process).

Background:

600,000 participants over the age of 18.
A seven days per week service, running Monday to Sunday, linked to laboratory opening hours, and open from 08:15 to 16:45 to ensure maximum accessibility to participants.
The service will be delivered across various regions in North East of England, North West of England, West & East Midlands, East, South East & South West of England, comprising of fixed locations and mobile sites.
