Job description

Based in the heart of Leamington Spa, Pixel Toys have spent almost a decade pushing the capabilities of mobile gaming. We have developed multiple award-winning titles, including: Warhammer 40,000: Freeblade and Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Realm War; and we’re now excited to be exclusively working on a new game, unlike ANYTHING we’ve done previously!

As a forward-thinking and innovative studio, we are always looking for new technologies and techniques to develop and use in our games and make them even more engaging experiences for our customers.

We are excited to continue to grow our team and are always on the lookout for highly talented and motivated individuals who are passionate about gaming and excited to join us on our ambitious journey!

The Role:

We are now seeking an experienced-to-senior Game Designer to join us in order to shape the combat experience of an exciting new cross-platform RPG, based on a globally recognised IP. You'll be at the heart of balancing PvP (Player versus Player) and PvE (Player versus Environment) gameplay, ensuring a competitive and rewarding experience.

Working closely with the combat and design teams, you’ll provide data-driven insights, refine character progression, encounters, and game balance; utilising Unity and live data tools to further fine-tune mechanics. Your expertise in combat meta, player feedback, and creative design will directly influence the game’s success!

About You:

As a seasoned Game Designer, you will be joining us with a deep understanding of mobile RPGs, PvP/PvE trends, and player behavior, with experience in balancing character's meta in competitive RPGs. You'll excel in terms of game economies, balance systems, and content design, using Unity for hands-on tuning and implementation.

On top of this, your strong communication skills make you a key player in a distributed team, and your player-first mindset ensures combat remains fair, engaging, and challenging.

Bonus points if you're already a fan of our soon-to-be-announced, globally recognised IP!
