Job Title: DevOps / Platform Engineer (AWS & Docker Specialization)

Location: Remote in UK

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled DevOps / Platform Engineer with expertise in AWS and Docker to join our team. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and containerized applications. This role will play a crucial part in ensuring system reliability, automation, and performance optimization.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage cloud infrastructure on AWS.
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines to streamline deployment processes.
• Deploy, manage, and optimize containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Monitor and troubleshoot system performance, ensuring high availability and security.
• Collaborate with development teams to integrate DevOps best practices.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration management using tools like Ansible, Chef, or Puppet.
• Ensure compliance with security best practices and regulatory requirements.
• Conduct performance tuning, cost optimization, and capacity planning.
• Stay up to date with the latest DevOps trends, tools, and technologies.

Required Skills & Experience

• Proven experience as a DevOps or Platform Engineer, specializing in AWS and Docker.
• Proficiency in containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, ECS, or EKS).
• Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, or AWS CodePipeline).
• Infrastructure as Code (IaC) proficiency (Terraform, CloudFormation, or Pulumi).
• Hands-on experience with scripting and automation (Bash, Python, or PowerShell).
• Configuration management knowledge (Ansible, Puppet, or Chef).
• Monitoring and logging expertise (Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch, ELK Stack, or Datadog).
• Strong understanding of networking, security, and cloud architecture best practices.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• AWS Certifications (AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Solutions Architect, or SysOps Administrator).
• Experience with service mesh technologies (Istio, Linkerd, or Consul).
• Knowledge of serverless architectures and FaaS (AWS Lambda, API Gateway).
• Experience with GitOps workflows (ArgoCD, Flux).
• Previous experience in a high-scale production environment.
