Family Solicitor or Legal Executive - Head of Family Law – Flexible Location & Hybrid Working (Lincolnshire & Nottinghamshire)

£60,000 to £90,000

My client is one of the most well-established law firms in the country. They take pride in their long history but also embrace innovation.


The Role

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Family Law solicitor or legal executive to lead and grow an already successful team. You’ll manage your own caseload while also overseeing and developing the Family Law department, which currently has six fee earners across multiple offices.

You’ll be working on a range of private Family Law matters, including:

  • Divorce and financial settlements
  • Private child law cases (e.g., child arrangement orders)
  • Cohabitation disputes
  • Pre-nuptial and post-nuptial agreements
  • Domestic abuse matters
  • Mediation and dispute resolution

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the Family Law team across multiple offices
  • Support and mentor colleagues to help them develop
  • Play a key role in hiring new team members
  • Ensure excellent client service and a smooth-running department
  • Manage your own manageable caseload of family matters
  • Conduct supervision and technical reviews
  • Keep up to date with industry regulations and best practices
  • Handle high-risk cases and attend HOD compliance meetings
  • Build strong relationships with clients and generate new business
  • Work closely with the marketing team to promote Family Law services
  • Encourage cross-referrals between different legal departments

You
  • Years of experience in running your own caseload of private family law matters i.e. divorce, child act matters
  • Solicitor or Legal Executive with at least 4 years PQE
  • Managerial or supervisory experience preferred
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • An empathetic manner and a keen eye for details

This role can be based at any of my client’s offices in Lincolnshire or Nottinghamshire, giving you flexibility in location.

  • A hybrid working model is also available.
  • Hours: Monday – Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:15 PM (36.25 hours per week)
