Legal Secretary - Family Law
Location: Maidstone
Hours: Full time, hybrid option available
Salary: £23,000 - £28,000 per annum DOE
ACS staffing solutions has teamed up with a well-established legal firm in the Maidstone area to support them with the recruitment of a legal secretary within family law. Experience in family law isn't necessarily needed; if you have a strong legal secretary background, retraining is an option.
The Role
The Family team deals with mid to high level family law matters, complex financial cases, pre and post nuptial agreements, domestic violence issues, and children matters. The team additionally assists with RSPCA matters. As a Legal Secretary, you will undertake a variety of important tasks including, but not limited to:
The client's team currently consists of 3 other support staff and 9 legal advisors, including Partners, Associates, Solicitors, Legal Executives, and Paralegals. You will be expected to work in a team alongside fellow support staff, as well as independently assisting with a range of interesting work.
About You!
The role would suit an experienced legal secretary with experience in the family legal environment. Strong legal secretaries from other areas of law will also be considered! You will have excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with a professional telephone manner and be able to demonstrate high attention to detail.
You will need to be comfortable working with various IT systems; however, training will be provided. You should have strong numeracy skills with an ability to understand financial ledgers. This is a busy, high-performing team that works to short notice deadlines, therefore you must be adept at managing various tasks at once while also being able to prioritise and use your initiative when required. Due to the nature of the work the team is involved in, you will need to understand and demonstrate discretion and confidentiality in your work. While you will have allocated fee earners, our secretaries work closely as a team, and therefore you must be comfortable communicating and working with others to manage workloads.
