I am recruiting for my client who is based close to Heathrow Airport and has offices and agents around the world.

They are seeking an organised and detail-oriented Export Clerk to join them. The Export Clerk will be responsible for facilitating the exportation of goods for their clients, ensuring all necessary documentation and compliance requirements are met. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of export processes, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to providing outstanding customer service.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and process export documentation, including export declarations, bills of lading, commercial invoices, and packing lists.
  • Coordinate with carriers, suppliers, and customs authorities to ensure timely and accurate export of goods.
  • Ensure all shipments comply with relevant regulations, including customs and international trade laws.
  • Maintain accurate records of export shipments, ensuring all documentation is filed and tracked appropriately.
  • Work closely with the customs brokerage team to resolve any clearance issues or discrepancies.
  • Communicate with clients, suppliers, and internal departments regarding shipment status and delivery schedules.
  • Process export orders, verifying shipping details, and making necessary adjustments as required.
  • Assist with coordinating transportation logistics, including booking freight and arranging for the shipment of goods.
  • Resolve any issues related to shipping, delays, or documentation discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Provide excellent customer service, addressing inquiries and providing status updates on shipments.
  • Collaborate with other team members to improve efficiency and streamline export processes.
Requirements
  • Previous experience in export logistics, freight forwarding, or a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of export documentation, customs procedures, and international shipping regulations.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive attitude.
  • Knowledge of logistics software or Freight Management Systems is a plus.
