Finance Business Partner

Location: Bristol Pay: £78,688 per annum Reference: 5261185 Type: Full-time, Permanent

Role Summary: Responsible for providing high-quality financial advice, commercial expertise, and management accounting services to the organisation. Key duties include budgeting, financial planning, forecasting, and financial reporting. The role requires working collaboratively with senior managers, councillors, and various services across the finance function.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Deliver strategic and operational financial management, including budget management and business case development.
  2. Assist in preparing information for senior officers, councillors, and the public on financial issues.
  3. Ensure effective financial controls and minimise financial risk.
  4. Support business development using predictive analytics and financial modelling.
  5. Lead the development of key financial documents and reports.
  6. Promote value-for-money services through evidence-based reporting and cost analysis.
  7. Provide financial insight for business transformation and policy development.
  8. Manage annual accounts closure and external audit relationships.
  9. Develop and maintain financial management frameworks and policies.
  10. Lead on Capital and Investment Strategy, ensuring alignment with corporate strategies.

Specific Role Outcomes:

  • Primary financial contact for the Executive Director.
  • Develop comprehensive corporate financial management frameworks.
  • Oversee revenue and capital budgets in alignment with strategic objectives.
  • Improve financial processes, training, and policies.
