We are looking to hire a Staff Operations Engineer for our Edinburgh hub who will have progressively stronger experience in distributed systems, Linux/Unix design, networking, and systems and reliability engineering. You are very experienced with containers and container orchestration with Kubernetes. One of your passions is to build DevOps tools that make it easier for people to build, deploy, and scale apps' Cloud infrastructure. You will be a technical leader in your DevOps product area.


What You'll Do

  • Help drive the technology vision for Cloud infrastructure. Work on defining and implementing the following versions of our global Cloud architecture.
  • Mentor team members, lead resolutions, and take ownership of issues.
  • Design tools and automation to support our release process and dev CI/CD pipelines and work closely with architects to help set the tech stack for the company.
  • Consult with management on the operational requirements of software solutions.
  • Document processes and monitor performance metrics.
  • Perform R&D on new technologies for the team and work closely with DevOps architects to help set the tech stack for the company.
  • Interact with external vendors and teams. Create and track vendor KPIs.
  • Learn new technology and train and mentor the team on it and be a troubleshooter for advanced and challenging to solve issues. Handle incident escalations.
  • Lead cross-functional efforts with Support and Engineering to set direction and scope of work.

What You'll Bring

  • Ability to architect new Cloud Service Provider solutions from the ground up.
  • Extensive experience with containerization and orchestration tools such as Terraform and Kubernetes.
  • Strong communication and team player skills and great technical mentoring skills.
  • Experience in supporting and deploying applications running on Kubernetes.
  • Comfortable creating new scripts (Python, Bash) at an advanced level.
  • Advanced database optimizations, configurations, and support.
  • Complete understanding of Security Best Practices and very experienced in Docker and Jenkins.
  • Seasoned in Agile concepts and SCRUM.
  • An exceptional track record of relevant experience in a medium to large enterprise environment.
