We’re growing fast at Fanwave Digital – a sports media publisher focused on football brands in the sports betting space. We’re building innovative, user-friendly products that help people bet smarter and safer.

We’re looking for a Backend Engineer to join our expanding team. You’ll play a key role in building and maintaining the backend systems that power our products, helping us scale as we grow. Ideally, you’ll have experience with sports data, but most importantly, you’re passionate about building reliable and scalable backend solutions.

What You’ll Do:

1. Build and maintain robust backend systems to support our sports media products.
2. Develop and manage APIs to ensure smooth integration with other Fanwave products.
3. Collaborate with product teams to deliver seamless user experiences.
4. Troubleshoot and debug backend issues to maintain performance and reliability.
5. Work with data from multiple sources, including sports data and betting providers.
6. Monitor and optimise backend performance, focusing on scalability and efficiency.

Required Qualifications:

1. Solid experience in backend engineering, ideally with large data sets / API integrations.
2. Proficiency with technologies like Java, Python, PHP, Node, and cloud platforms (AWS).
3. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively in an agile environment.
4. A passion for building scalable systems and an interest in sports betting is a plus!
