APPRENTICE ACCOUNTS ASSISTANT

A unique opportunity has arisen to join the Finance team at Middlesbrough Football Club as an Apprentice Accounts Assistant.

THE ROLE

The main responsibilities of the role include:

1. Accurate postings of cash book transactions
2. Assist in the preparation of monthly management information
3. Responsible for the maintenance and processing of the cash books including bank reconciliations
4. Liaising with internal departments to ensure that all banking is done on a day-to-day basis and raising any issues with the department head on any discrepancies
5. Develop cash book accounting and controls making use of current computer systems
6. Checking and preparing online bank payments including monthly employee expenses
7. Assist in monthly management accounts process
8. Continuous support of Finance team members, processes, and procedures
9. Ad hoc duties as requested by the Financial Manager

THE CANDIDATE

The ideal candidate will:

1. Have a minimum of grade 4 in GCSE Maths and English
2. Be highly numerate and literate with an ability to communicate effectively at all levels
3. Be IT competent
4. Have excellent attention to detail and be capable of planning and prioritising work
5. Be able to work on your own initiative and remain calm under pressure
